Design & Character

Traditional Collection

The Traditional Collection is the formal classic A&L calls the original, and the lateral cabinet brings that styling to a wider, side-filing format. Raised drawers give the broad fronts depth and shadow, while base moulding along the sides ties it to the pedestal desks it works beside. Wooden knobs and pulls keep the look timeless rather than trendy. At nearly 30 inches wide, each lateral drawer swallows legal or letter folders turned sideways, putting a lot of paperwork within arm's reach. Both drawers travel the full length of their slides, so the files at the very back stay easy to find. It is honest, high-capacity filing in real wood.

Craftsmanship

Every Traditional piece is benchmade by Amish craftsmen in Fredericksburg, Ohio, where A&L Furniture has built solid hardwood office furniture since 1996. The work happens on-site from rough lumber to final coat, which is how the shop holds its quality steady. The wide lateral drawers ride on full-extension slides that pull all the way out, so a drawer of legal folders opens fully without binding. A three-step finishing process, applied by hand, brings out the grain and seals every surface against years of daily filing. Base moulding and raised drawer fronts are fit by hand, the kind of detail that separates real casework from a stamped metal cabinet.

Heirloom Quality

Built to last, this lateral cabinet is solid hardwood through and through, with no veneer or particleboard hiding under the finish. The full-extension slides are sized to carry a wide drawer packed with legal files, and the solid wood case is the kind of construction meant to outlast its first owner rather than wear out and get replaced. Choose from a deep menu of species and stains so the cabinet matches the desk it serves and the room it lands in. Order it your way and Millwest delivers your finished cabinet straight to your door with nationwide delivery across the continental US, putting heirloom solid wood within reach.
