Design & Character

Wakefield Collection

The Wakefield Collection reads transitional and quietly industrial, where clean lines and graphite hardware stand in for ornament, and this hutch top carries that look up off the desk. At sixty inches wide and just fifteen inches tall, it adds a tidy band of storage above the work surface, putting reference materials and supplies within easy reach. Flush inset drawers sit flat with the face, keeping the front crisp and unbroken in the way the line is known for. The back is not finished, since it sits against a wall behind the desk, so the hutch is made to complete a Wakefield computer desk rather than stand alone.

Craftsmanship

Every Wakefield piece is benchmade by Amish craftsmen in Fredericksburg, Ohio, where A&L Furniture has built solid hardwood office furniture since 1996. The work happens on-site from rough lumber to final coat. The hutch is built to seat squarely on the desktop below, and each flush inset drawer is fitted to sit flat and true with the face for a clean, unbroken front. A three-step finishing process, applied by hand, brings out the grain and seals every surface against years of daily use. Graphite hardware lends the clean, industrial edge that defines the line, set against the warmth of real wood. It holds up to real work, day after day.

Heirloom Quality

Built to last, this hutch top is solid hardwood through and through on every surface that shows, with no veneer or particleboard hiding under the finish. Shelving built from real wood holds books, binders, and supplies for years without bowing, and because the hutch is made in the same species and stain as the desk, the two read as one coordinated piece. Choose from a deep menu of species so the set matches the room it lands in. Order it your way and Millwest delivers your finished hutch straight to your door with nationwide delivery across the continental US, putting heirloom solid wood within reach.
