Design & Character

Kapernaum Collection

The Kapernaum Collection takes its name from the German name for a town along the Sea of Galilee, and it carries a quiet, traditional dignity to match. Flared posts, curved legs, and flush inset drawers give the line a settled, classic look, and this simple hutch top extends that character upward without crowding the room. Resting on the matching single pedestal desk, it keeps books, binders, and the references you reach for most up at eye level and off the writing surface below. The open profile keeps everything visible and easy to grab, turning a compact desk into a complete, organized workstation in real solid wood.

Craftsmanship

Every Kapernaum piece is benchmade by Amish craftsmen in Fredericksburg, Ohio, where A&L Furniture has built solid hardwood office furniture since 1996. The work happens on-site from rough lumber to final coat, the kind of hands-on shop that knows each piece before it ships. A three-step finishing process, applied by hand, brings out the grain and seals every surface against years of daily use. The flared posts and curved lines are shaped and joined to read as one with the desk below, so the top and base look like a single piece rather than an afterthought. It is the kind of build meant to last a lifetime.

Heirloom Quality

Built to last a lifetime, this hutch top is solid hardwood through and through, with no veneer or particleboard hiding under the finish. Because it is made to order in the same species and stain as your desk, the two read as one coordinated set rather than a mismatched add-on. The shelving carries a full row of books and binders without bowing, year after year. Choose from a deep menu of species and stains so the piece matches the room it lands in. Order it your way and Millwest delivers your finished hutch top straight to your door with nationwide delivery across the continental US.
