Design & Character

Kapernaum Collection

The Kapernaum Collection takes its name from the German name for a town along the Sea of Galilee, and it carries a quiet, traditional dignity to match. Flared posts, curved legs, and flush inset drawers give the line a settled, classic look. The lateral layout runs wider than a standard file cabinet, so files load side to side and a broad top doubles as a landing spot for a printer or references. Standing a desk-height 30 inches tall, it lines up beside a work surface and matches the desks in the collection, so the office reads as one coordinated set in solid wood.

Craftsmanship

Every Kapernaum piece is benchmade by Amish craftsmen in Fredericksburg, Ohio, where A&L Furniture has built solid hardwood office furniture since 1996. The work happens on-site from rough lumber to final coat. The flush inset lateral drawers are fitted to sit clean and flat within the frame, opening with an even feel even when loaded with files. A three-step finishing process, applied by hand, brings out the grain and seals every surface against years of daily filing. The flared posts and curved legs are shaped to match the desks they serve. It is the kind of build meant to last a lifetime.

Heirloom Quality

Built to last a lifetime, this lateral file cabinet is solid hardwood through and through, with no veneer or particleboard hiding under the finish. The wide inset drawers ride within a frame joined to outlast their first owner, built to carry a heavy load of files without complaint. Because it is made to order in your chosen species and stain, it coordinates with the desk it serves. Choose from a deep menu of species and stains so the cabinet matches the room it lands in. Order it your way and Millwest delivers your finished cabinet straight to your door with nationwide delivery across the continental US.
