Design & Character

Mission Collection

The Mission Collection trades fuss for honest geometry, and the open version of this bookcase shows that character at its most pared-back. With no doors to break the front, the eye runs straight up the solid hardwood frame to the gently arched cut-out base that lifts the whole piece off the floor. Standing a full 72 inches tall on a compact footprint, it makes real use of vertical space, holding a deep library of books, binders, and boxes right out in the open where they are easy to grab. It is straightforward, honest storage in real wood, built for a working office.

Craftsmanship

Every Mission piece is benchmade by Amish craftsmen in Fredericksburg, Ohio, where A&L Furniture has built solid hardwood office furniture since 1996. The work happens on-site from rough lumber to final coat, so the frame stands square and the arched base is cut cleanly by hand. A three-step finishing process, applied by hand, brings out the grain in the solid hardwood and seals every surface against years of daily use. With no doors in the way, the joinery and the solid wood shelving are on full display, built to carry a real load across the open span without bowing. It is a build that holds up to real work.

Heirloom Quality

Built to last, this open bookcase is solid hardwood through and through, with no veneer or particleboard hiding under the finish. Solid wood shelving holds a heavy row of books for years without sagging or bowing, the failure that eventually ruins cheaper shelving, and the open frame stays true through decades of loading and reshuffling. Choose from a deep menu of species and stains so the bookcase matches the desk it stands beside and the room it lands in. Order it your way and Millwest delivers your finished bookcase straight to your door with nationwide delivery across the continental US, putting heirloom solid wood within reach.
